Missing it can lead to food poisoning, predator, etc. Good smells are related to flower and good food. Missing it can lead to missing a good meal ??? Compare the two effect together, we’ll see that bad smells’ punishment is much harsher than good smells’ rewards. Smoke, on the other hand, has a lot of particles that can stick to the air, that’s why it can remain its smell for a long time. *Side note: If you’re accustomed to the smell, you might not smell it.
