Curiosity – The Essence of Deduction zusgazmy, 04/11/202311/11/2023 Home » Blog » Curiosity – The Essence of Deduction 4, November, 2023 Rated : ⭐⭐⭐⚝⚝ The Missing Element in Beginner Deduction Have you ever looked at someone in your daily life and genuinely interested? I’m not talking about sexually attracted, but rather, wonder what did he do that his shirt is so dirty, what did she do that her lipstick is smeared. Deductions derives from genuine curiosity for the explanation of your observation. Throughout the past month or two, I’ve seen people trying to make observations, but curiosity just wasn’t there. Female 55+ used knife with her right hand, held her phone with her right hand shaky hands smoked cigarette sitting alone no sign of a ring coloured hair ( vinaceous – it was coloured two weeks ago or more) shaking hands. dressed all in black The list goes on. Don’t worry if that’s you, because this was me too until a moment of realization. I don’t care about this person or her story, I just want to see a quick deduction to prove that I’m smarter than others. Curiosity Curiosity is not only the essence of deduction, but also the essence of learning anything. Neuroscience, a sophisticated field of science was once rooted from a curiosity of what’s inside someone’s mind. Slowly, throughout the progress of time, and thousands of trials and errors, we now enjoy many benefits of the studies. Deduction, an old art but also new one. It is deceptive in way such, it is a science of its own, yet not many people think about it. Deduction can be seen as a science of everyday life. Like a doctor listens to his patient’s symptoms and prescribe medicine, a deductionist look at someone or something and prescribe what happened. With enough dedication, maybe one day, deduction can be as big as neuroscience. Mechanism of Learning Let me steer off this topic a little bit. According to Prof Huberman, Dopamine plays an important role in the reward mechanism which is crucial for learning. Human evolutionarily used this mechanism to find food, shelter and cultivate their culture. In simple terms, you’re hungry – you find food – you feel good (reward mechanism) – you keep finding food. And throughout this process, finding food might get harder, so you’ll have to find different ways or upgrade yourself to keep getting rewarded. Now, if you’re rewarded by the feeling of being smarter than others, you’ll either find it easier to bring others down, or stay happy with doing simple deduction. If you’re rewarded by the curiosity in other person, you’ll keep getting rewarded by learning about that individual. This reward is continuous on every time you learn a new fact. This can be earned by simply talking to others, or we do a little induction and theories before talking to them to confirm them. Curiosity Questionaires Who, What, When, Where, Why, How, How many, etc. From these simple questions, we can have a guideline of asking questions, getting more theories from observations.
