Best 4 books that can sharpen your detective inner self zusgazmy, 11/06/202311/06/2023 In the quest for knowledge on deduction, observation, non-verbal communication etc. you may have had some trouble finding resources from which to learn, so here we present to you a list of in my opinion must-read books for any aspiring Sherlock: The Monographs by Ben Cardall – is an excellent guide to deduction. It’s fascinating and funny. The author covers multiple things you can deduce from and gives you many practical tips. Ben Cardall is a mind reader, though different than being a detective, but the field also uses a lot of inductive and deductive skills. Think Like Sherlock Holmes by Maria Konnikova – is a book like the title says about thinking like our genius detective, Maria Konnikova covers many cognitive errors etc. Maria Konnikova is a journalist and a poker player, her work excels in making decision. What Everybody Is Saying by Joe Navarro – is a must-read book for anyone interested in non-verbal communication written by an ex-FBI agent. Not much more to say, an ex-FBI agent with specialty in interrogation will certainly give a lot of insights into body languages. Mug Shots by Douglas P. Hinkle – is a very interesting book on the human face’s anatomy. A short but very useful volume. – Bruno Holmes Related Detective Resources bookresources
