The President’s Letter

Parrot and two of his subordinates are sitting on a couch while Dr. Heimer, a historian is making some coffee before sitting down with them.

“Doctor, please tell us again what you know about the case.”

“Just like I said to the other detective”, Dr. Heimer frowned, “It was the 2nd president’s letter to my great grandfather who was a famous writer at the time. The content was published multiple times on newspapers but I finally decided to give it to the museum for display. At the beginning of the week, it’s still there in the frame on the wall, but this morning it was gone.”

“When did you get the letter?” Parrot asked.

“It was given to me when my dad passed away 5 years ago. It doesn’t really have any value on the market so I never thought about buying insurance either.”

“There are 3 suspects”, one of the subordinates open his note and listed: ” Xavier is from a heating company, he was here on Tuesday to maintain the heating system. York works for a plumping company and he was here on Wednesday to write down the water number. Lastly, Zenis was here on Thursday to work on the broken toilet. Do I miss anything? “

“That’s correct, I have people maintain the heating system once every 2 or 3 years, whenever I remember, I just choose a random company on the list. York takes care of the water number and checks the plumbing in the house once every 4 months. And my toilet got clogged up on Thursday so there is Zenis” Dr. Heimer replied.

Parrot asked: ” So there was no sign of breaking in and you didn’t have guests this week right?”

“Yes, I just showed them where to work then me and my wife both got to work, nobody was watching them.”

Parrot put down the coffee and stood up: ” I have an idea of who to start with”
